Shower installationIf you're tired of dealing with a leaky, mildew-stained shower curtain on an existing shower, installing a shower door might be a perfect solution. The installation, which is essentially the same for a stall shower or tub/shower, is a no-brainer.Adding a swinging shower door to a shower stall requires installing the aluminum frame around it. It's important to line up the door and frame snugly to the walls to prevent leaks. A saw, drill and screwdriver are the main tools needed to install a shower door.Measure the inside area for the shower door. Transfer the measurement to the track. Using a hacksaw, cut the track 1/16" shorter for an easy fit. Use a miter box for straight edges. You may need to round off the corners with a file if your shower has rounded corners. The top and bottom tracks supplied by the manufacturer must be cut slightly shorter than the width of the your shower’s opening. As always, read the manufacturer’s installation instructions carefully before you do anything, and then follow these steps.
